Percy Jackson and The Olympians just got another update. The first poster for the highly anticipated live-action reboot series has been revealed. Once again, the new promo puts the focus on Camp Half-Blood.
It has been confirmed that the first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will adapt The Lightning Thief, which also happens to be the first book in Rick Riordan's book series. In the book, Percy learns he is a demigod and is set to Camp Half-Blood. It is here that he learns about other demigods and realizes he is suspected of the theft of Zeus' master lightning bolt.
Much of the first book takes place at Camp Half-Blood so it's no surprise that the Disney+ series is putting the focus on the summer camp. The new poster features the Camp Half-Blood flag along with a gladiator helmet that is used by the demigods during one of the more intense activities at the camp.
It's great to see an update on Percy Jackson considering that we have yet to see an official teaser or trailer for the upcoming show. However, there is a possibility that the first footage from the series will finally be unveiled in the next few weeks.
Although he is currently working on the live-action adaptation, Rick Riordan has recently found time to work on a sixth Percy Jackson book. Percy Jackson and The Chalice of the Gods will serve as a standalone novel and is set after the events in The Last Olympian. In the book, Percy and his friends are forced to take on a new mission so he could obtain a recommendation letter for New Rome University.
That's right, Percy Jackson is going to college. Percy Jackson and The Chalice of the Gods will be released on September 26, 2023. Disney+'s live-action Percy Jackson and The Olympians series will premiere in 2024.
