In Oshi no Ko Episode 7, we got to see the Tokyo Blade 2.5D stage play in action as the cast were clearly impressed by Kana Arima's acting performance. Viewers also watched Akane Kurokawa get the opportunity to show her acting skills alongside Kana as well. Fans also got to revisit Akane's past to see her idolizing Kana and dreaming to become like her. Unfortunately, things have changed, and Akane isn't happy with Kana overall. The episode ended with Aqua and Akane preparing for the next big part of the play.
Today, the official website of Oshi no Ko has revealed a teaser video, preview stills, and official synopsis for Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 8 (Episode 19 overall), which is titled Trigger, and it's expected to feature Aqua and Akane working together to push Kana to bring out her best performance, and we'll likely see Aqua and Kana share the stage, with Aqua capturing the opportunity to showcase the results of his extra rehearsals.
The synopsis teases that Aqua will encourage Kana to push beyond her usual supportive style. Aqua will likely use a unique method to cope with the challenges of experiencing panic attacks when he finds enjoyment in acting during his performance in the stage play.

Studio Doga Kobo returned to animate Oshi no Ko Season 2, and the official website revealed that the main staff of Episode 8 includes Tanaka Jin on screenplay, and Nekotomi Chao, Nishina Kuniyasu, and Daisuke Hiramaki on storyboard, direction, and color script. Hirayama Hirona is the Chief Animation Director; Honoka Yokoyama and Satomi Watanabe are the Assistant Chief Animation Directors; Amooosie is in charge of the action animation supervision, and the animation directors are Hirona Hirayama, Tamami Izawa, Supervisor Kevin Yuta, Ai Motoya, Etsuko Yamamoto, Tokutaka Tateguchi, and Atsushi Soga.

Just like the first season, Oshi no Ko Season 2 is currently available to stream on HIDIVE, so you can watch the eighth episode on the platform when it premieres on August 21, at 11:00 pm JST on TOKYO MX, KBS Kyoto, TV Hokkaido, AT-X, BS11 TV Aichi and other networks across Japan. According to the home media release listing for the new season, there will be a total of 13 episodes released across six Blu-ray and DVD launches in Japan, and with seven episodes already out, that means we can expect 6 more new episodes to arrive in this Summer 2024 anime season.

What is Oshi no Ko Season 2 about?
Oshi no Ko anime is based on the manga series of the same title written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari (Scum's Wish). The series has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump while Manga Plus digitally publishes the official English version of the manga. Yen Press publishes the English physical editions of the manga.
