Now that the rehearsals for the Tokyo Blade Stage Play have commenced, there are high expectations for Akane's performance against Kana.

Oshi no Ko made its return last week, and fans of the supernatural mystery series are excited as ever to see Aqua, Ruby, Akane and Kana return to the screen for the second season. Today, the official website of the anime has revealed a teaser, preview stills, and official synopsis for Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 2, which is titled Telephone Game.The previous episode saw Abiko Samejima, the creator of the Tokyo Blade manga, visit the rehearsal studio and propose a complete overhaul of the script, leaving us in a tense note.

Tensions between Tokyo Blade creator Abiko Samejima and scriptwriter GOA are expected to rise in Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 2. GOA, a fan of the series, composed the stage play script to fit the runtime constraints, but Abiko wants major changes after observing rehearsals.

The official synopsis of Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 2 reads:

Abiko, the original author of Tokyo Blad e, is not very good at socializing. A senior manga artist, Yoriko, was worried about whether she would be able to handle the situation well when her work was adapted into a media piece, but when she visited the rehearsal room, her fears were confirmed.

Studio Doga Kobo returned to animate Oshi no Ko Season 2, and the official website revealed that the main staff of Episode 2 includes Tanaka Jin on screenplay, Daisuke Hiramaki on storyboard, Kazuaki Komatsu on direction, Hirayama Hirona on character drawing supervision, and Cattomi Chao on color script. Satomi Watanabe is the chief animation director, and the animation directors are Shun Sawai, Ayaka Muroga, and Noritaka Tateguchi.

The main Japanese voice cast of Oshi no Ko includes:

What is Oshi no Ko Season 2 about?

Oshi no Ko anime is based on the manga series of the same title written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari (Scum's Wish). The series has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump while Manga Plus digitally publishes the official English version of the manga. Yen Press publishes the English physical editions of the manga.

Aqua's desire for revenge takes center stage as he navigates the dark underbelly of the entertainment world alongside his twin sister, Ruby. While Ruby follows in their slain mother's footsteps to become an idol, Aqua joins a famous theater troupe in hopes of uncovering clues to the identity of his father—the man who arranged their mother's untimely death, and the man who once starred in the same troupe Aqua hopes to infiltrate.

Where to watch Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 2

Just like the first season, Oshi no Ko Season 2 is currently available to stream on HIDIVE, so you can watch the second episode there when it premieres on Wednesday, July 10. According to the home media release listing for the new season, there will be a total of 13 episodes released across six Blu-ray and DVD launches in Japan, and with one episode already out, that means we can expect 12 more new episodes to arrive in this Summer 2024 anime season.
