After a long wait, fans finally get their first look at One-Punch Man Season 3 preview. Following the end of the second season in July 2019, it took three years for the third season to be announced. And now, things are finally shaping up with the release of its special announcement trailer, featuring Saitama’s upcoming epic battle, the main staff, and the return of JC Staff as its producer.

You can check the preview below:

The first One-Punch Man Season 3 trailer begins with the narration of Dr. Genus talking about the Limiter and saying that an organism’s growth has its limits no matter how hard it tries to strive. Garou then appears, unleashing a big blow against a green monster, while Genus continuously narrates that an “overabundance of strength is a burden to its bearer.” But a woman wielding a sword stops Garou, starting an epic fight between the two and later joined by the green monster.

But as Saitama enters the scene, Genus reveals that he is different. Despite being a normal person with an ordinary lifestyle and no particular talent, he has managed to force open his limits and destroy his limiter. From there, intense music begins to play as a bloody Garou appears while the words Supreme Power vs. Ultimate Fear flash on the screen, hinting at a battle between Garou and Saitama.

In addition, the anime has also released a new key visual for One Punch-Man Season 3. The poster shows Saitama wearing his iconic yellow suit and showing his clenched fist as he’s about to return with another round of intense fights.

What is One-Punch Man Season 3 about?

One-Punch Man Season 3 sees the return of Saitama performing his duty as a hero member of the Hero Association. Alleged monsters from the Monster Association hostage a child from the Hero Association, so the S-class heroes gather to plan a raid on the enemies’ hideout. As the battle begins, Garou awakens.

You can read the synopsis below:

After three years of ‘special training,’ he’s become so strong that he's practically invincible. In fact, he's too strong-even his mightiest opponents are taken out with a single punch. Alongside Genos, his faithful disciple, Saitama performs his official hero duties as a member of the Hero Association. One day, monsters claiming to be from the Monster Association suddenly appeared, taking a child of Hero Association executive as a hostage. The S-class heroes gather and plan a raid on the Monster Association hideout to rescue the hostage. Meanwhile, Garou, a "human monster" who was taken by the Monster Association during a battle with the heroes, awakens in the Monster Association hideout.

The anime is based on the manga series of the same title by One, who wrote the original webcomic in 2009. A digital remake was then published in June 2012, with illustrations by Yusuke Murata, releasing 20 tankobon volumes as of November 2023 and selling over 30 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time. Viz Media has licensed it in English.

Madhouse produced the first season of its anime adaptation, releasing in October 2015. J.C. Staff then handled its second season, which premiered in April 2019. Viz Media licensed it in North America, while it premiered in the U.S. on Adult Swim’s Toonami.

Finally, after almost five years, fans will once again see Saitama and the rest of the S-class heroes back on the battlefield. Despite the many complaints J.C. Staff received for its second season’s animation, many hope it will improve this time and make the long wait worth it. The anime has no official release date yet.
