Namori’s spin-off manga, Omuro-ke, is about to get its first movie. But instead of just one, two films will be coming up, and the first one will be called Omuro-ke: Dear Sisters, which Studios Passione and Lings will produce. Officially announced on August 4, 2023, the anime film will feature the Omuro sisters, Hanako, Sakurako, and Nadeshiko, and the anime’s trailer shows the cute banter between the three. You can watch the preview below:
The trailer begins with Sakurako, the middle child, teasing her eldest sister, Nadeshiko, that she will spoil her with her favorite manga if she doesn’t buy her a cake. But Hanako, the youngest of the three, arrives, trying to stop Sakurako as she starts to read the manga. The scene then shows Omuro-ke’s other characters, like Kokoro and Mirai, who are Hanako’s friends, inviting her to play, followed by a scene of Furuya, Sakurako’s classmate, talking to a fellow student.
The preview then shows Hanako, Kokoro, and Mirai together, confronted by Misaki, who sees Hanako as a foe. Miwa, one of Nadeshiko’s four close friends, holds her pal’s favorite manga while Miho and Megumi are also with them. However, Nadeshiko seems not to be in the mood after Sakurako spoils her.

What is the Omuro-ke anime movie about?
A spin-off of the YuruYuri manga, Omuro-ke now has six volumes in circulation. The original manga was initially serialized in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime S magazine in 2008 before it moved to Comic Yuri Hime in 2010. With its success, it was adapted into an anime by Doga Kobo, which handled its first two seasons before TYO Animations took over for the third installment. The manga also inspired an OVA produced by Lay-duce and was released in 2019 as part of its 10th anniversary.
Now, Omuro-ke anime movie is coming, telling the story of the three Omuro sisters, Sakurako, Nadeshiko, and Hanako. The film follows the siblings’ everyday lives when Sakurako comes home to a quiet home one day. Hanako catches her breath as she hides behind the sofa, not wanting Sakurako to find her.
However, Sakurako sees her looking comical with a magic pen on her face, making it look like a beard. As this irritates Hanako, Nadeshiko is more annoyed after learning that the ice cream she has saved for herself is gone. Nadeshiko and Hanako suspect Sakurako to be the culprit, making the situation unfair as the fight becomes two versus one.
