After being announced on July 11, 2022, Kadokawa Anime finally released the first trailer for the upcoming anime adaptation of No Longer Allowed in Another World. But aside from providing a good look at the main characters Sensei, Annette, Tama, and Nia, the preview also unveils the cast who joined the series, along with its release window: July 2024. You can see the trailer below:

The No Longer Allowed in Another World trailer starts with a melancholy feeling as Sensei walks on a bridge with his girlfriend, as they plan to take their lives together. But before they can do that, a rushing car crashes into the couple, bringing Sensei to a different place. As he has been summoned to another world, a huge red dragon appears, while a beautiful kingdom is revealed. The female elf Annette welcomes Sensei to the kingdom and says he’s the chosen one.

Sensei bravely faces Annette and tells her he has no idea about her mission, as he later reveals he’s looking for a place to die. As this seems to anger Annette, Tama takes the scene after being caught in a trap by an angry tree while Sensei tries to help her. The preview also gives a look at Nia, asking Sensei if he’s a hero. From there, Sensei introduces himself as a writer with a completely different world while several action-packed scenes start playing in the background.

The anime also released the first key visual for No Longer Allowed in Another World, featuring Sensei surrounded by Annette, Nia, and Tama. You can see the key visual below:

What is No Longer Allowed in Another World about?

No Longer Allowed in Another World follows the story of the melancholy author Sensei, who wants to leave everything behind and end his life. However, as he plans to do so, he has been given a second chance in life after being summoned to another world. But that doesn’t stop him from finding a place to die. With cute girls around him and a new adventure that will turn his life around, he may finally find the fresh start he needs.

You can read the synopsis below:

A second life in another world with cute girls by your side and video gamey powers–sounds like a dream, right? Not so for a certain melancholy author, who would quite literally rather drop dead. Honestly, all the fantastical adventure is just getting in the way of his poetic dream of finding the perfect place to die. But no matter how much he risks his hide, everything seems to keep turning out okay. Will our terminally depressed hero find a new lease on life in this cheerfully bleak isekai comedy?

The anime is based on the manga of the same title, written by Hiroshi Noda and illustrated by Takahiro Wakamatsu. The series started its serialization on Shogakukan’s Yawaraka Spirits website on October 2, 2019, and collected nine tankobon volumes as of June 12, 2023. It’s licensed in English in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment. In July 2022, an anime adaptation by Atelier Pontdarc was officially announced and would premiere in July 2024.
