Percy Jackson and The Olympians is finally coming later this year and the first full-length trailer for the upcoming series has finally been dropped. In addition to showing more of the main trio and Camp Half-Blood, the new teaser features our first look at the late Lance Riddick as Zeus.

The new Percy Jackson and the Olympians trailer opens with Walker Scobell's titular demigod Percy embarking on a school trip to the MET Museum with his classmates from Yancy Academy. During this visit, Percy's dyslexia begins to play tricks on him, causing words on his worksheet to rearrange themselves, highlighting his struggles as a "troubled kid."

However, the situation takes a dark and mysterious turn when Percy's pen starts to tremble uncontrollably. Suddenly, a foreboding figure appears before him, Mrs. Dodds, portrayed by Megan Mullally. This seemingly ordinary teacher undergoes a shocking transformation, turning into the menacing Alecto, one of the Furies in the service of Hades, played by Jay Duplass.

This gripping scene serves as a glimpse into the fantastical and perilous world of Percy Jackson, where ancient mythology collides with modern-day challenges, setting the stage for the epic adventures that await the young demigod and his friends.

It doesn't take long before we learn the truth about Percy's best friend Grover Underwood and the amazing Camp Half-Blood. There's also a brief glimpse at Riddick as Zeus as he descends from his platform.

It's great to see Riddick all over again and as an important figure in the Percy Jackson Universe. With that in mind, we're truly looking forward to the series later this year.

The Resident Evil actor passed away from heart disease at his home in Los Angeles on March 17, 2023. He was 60 years old. Before his passing, he completed work on Percy Jackson and the video game Hellboy: Web of Wyrd where he voiced the titular character.
