Insomniac Games is treating Marvel's Wolverine as a PlayStation 5 exclusive built around close-range claw combat, a three-tier Rage pool, and an original story that puts Logan beside Jean Grey and Team X against Bolivar Trask. The newest official look focuses on how those systems connect in the field rather than on a broad overview of the project.
A new features trailer narrated by Liam McIntyre, who plays James Logan Howlett, cuts through the combat loop, world travel, lore beats, and the extras waiting in Logan's Nightmare Cabin. It also flags how Techniques, Adaptations, suits, and collectibles sit beside the main campaign.

Those same systems are laid out in a PlayStation Blog post from Insomniac Senior Community Manager Aaron Jason Espinoza. The write-up walks through combat momentum, side content, extras inside the Nightmare Cabin, and the accessibility options shipping with the game.
Combat in Marvel's Wolverine is built to stay fast, fluid, and ferocious, with an emphasis on aggressive momentum that rewards getting in close and laying into enemies with claws, kicks, barrages, and critical strikes. Players can learn new Techniques for enhanced combat moves and unleash rechargeable Special Techniques such as Tornado Spin to reclaim territory, Knee Breaker to chin check brash Reavers, or Spiral Strike to drill through a crowd, and four Special Techniques can be equipped at once for seamless use in a fight.
Adaptations then amplify Logan's momentum by letting him absorb more bullets, increase Rage effectiveness, expand parry windows, or terrorize foes mid-fight, and dozens of those upgrades exist to tune the character to a given playstyle. Rage is a three-tiered pool of adrenaline that leans into survivability, resilience, and fury in that order, so a last stand can keep Logan fighting another day or a berserk streak can sustain the meter by killing without mercy.
The original story sends Logan around the world as Trask pushes plans against mutantkind, leaving it to Logan, Jean Grey, and members of Team X to cut those plans off in a moment when too few mutants remain to form safe havens. Between encounters with villains such as Omega Red and Deathstrike, senses can locate Nightmare Doors for combat and traversal challenges, whisky bottles that uncover forgotten memories, and material crates used to craft suits inspired by comics, movies, and animation.
Those outfits start with an original Battle Reborn suit designed by Insomniac Games and run through looks inspired by Weapon X, Old Man Logan, Ultimate Wolverine, Patch, a tank top, and a leather jacket, with some cowls and hats toggleable on or off. Acquiring more suits grants health upgrades and new claws that include bone claws, notched claws, curved claws, reflective claws, angled claws, and more, and pressing L2 plus R2 outside combat pops the claws on demand, while the Nightmare Cabin adds New Game Plus with exclusive Techniques and Level Caps, Mission Replay, Nightmare Challenges, and Photo Mode through a day one update.
Marvel's Wolverine includes over 100 new, returning, and improved accessibility features from Insomniac games, including High Contrast visuals, English Audio Description, Global Game Speed, and Strong Haptic Signals. The game is unapologetically violent and gory by design, so new violence and adult language toggles let players alter dynamic blood and dismemberment and apply filters for English-only adult language.
Marvel's Wolverine arrives on PlayStation 5 consoles on September 15, 2026, and the Digital Deluxe Edition adds exclusive suits, claws, and bonuses on top of the base game. Wishlisting and pre-orders are available now on the PlayStation Store, through PS Direct, and at local retailers.
