Baki the Grappler fans are in for a treat. After the release of Baki Hanma Season 2 on Netflix, a new Baki the Grappler manga is about to begin this summer. Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion Issue 35 announced Thursday that manga artist Keisuke Itagaki, who started the Baki series, would create a new storyline for the manga.
The latest Baki manga, Baki-Dou, ended on June 15 after launching in October 2018. And after just over a month, Itagaki is about to continue Baki's epic journey in a new Baki the Grappler manga, showing he has no plans to stop.
The mangaka is yet to reveal the new series’ plot or the enemies Baki will face this time. However, with the different storylines he has created for the series for decades, this one will surely be not short of a great story to tell. It may even be source material for a potential Baki Hanma Season 3.

The original Baki the Grappler manga has 42 volumes in Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine from 1991 to 1999. It has over 63 million copies in circulation, proving its massive success.
It was followed by a sequel from 1999 to 2005 with 37 volumes. Its English version was released by Media Do.
As Itagaki didn't want to end the series yet, he once again published a 36-volume manga in Weekly Shōnen Champion from 2005 to 2012. From there, the first Baki-Dou manga, the overall fourth manga in the franchise, was released in March 2014 in the same magazine and ended in April 2018 with 22 volumes.
The latest was also titled Baki-Dou, though it had different characters for “Baki” in the title compared to the previous one. It ran from October 2018 to June 2023.
