Netflix has announced the production of its upcoming YA horror series Wish Your Death (working title). The announcement confirmed that Jeon So-young, Kang Min-na, Bae Sun-ho, Lee Hyo-je, and Hyung Woo-seok. The upcoming series is directed by Park Youn-seo (Kingdom Season 2, Moving) and produced by CJ ENM STUDIOS.
The five confirmed cast members will star as a group of high school students who receive a death warning from a mysterious wish-granting app called GIRIGO. The app grants any wish uploaded as a video, but with a cost. As they struggle to break free from the app's curse, they uncover haunting truths that connect the app to the sudden death of a classmate.
Netflix shared character descriptions of the roles the five cast members will be playing:
Jeon So-young stars as Se-ah, a promising track athlete at Seorin High who is determined to uncover the secrets of the deadly wish-granting app.
Kang Mi-na (Welcome to Samdalri, Café Minamdang, Hotel Del Luna) portrays Na-ri, a popular girl admired for her idol-like appearance who doesn’t believe the app’s dark reputation.
Baek Sun-ho (Between Him and Her and Dongjae, the Good or the Bastard) plays Geon-woo, Se-ah’s secret boyfriend, who struggles with her growing obsession with the wish-granting app.
Hyun Woo-seok (Time to Be Strong, Dolphin, Cheer Up) plays the role of Ha-joon, the analytical brain of the group, who uses his coding skills to discover the app’s mysteries.
Lee Hyo-je (Hunted, Lost, The Loop) portrays Hyeong-wook, a mischievous prankster whose life changes after making a wish on GIRIGO.

Netflix hasn't announced a release date or revealed a trailer for Wish Your Death yet, but considering that production has just been confirmed, it's likely that we'll have to wait months before we get an update.
