The highly-anticipated second season of Castlevanie: Nocturne is finally coming to Netflix this week, and Netflix has released an epic new trailer to get fans of spinoff series of Frederator Studios' Castlevania animated series. Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 is scheduled to release on Netflix this Thursday, January 16, and it will consist of eight 25-minute episodes.
The first season of Castlevania: Nocturne premiered in September 2023, consisting of eight episodes and the finale featured the surprising arrival of a familiar face. Just like the original Castlevania animated series, the spinoff was well-received, and while Netflix renewed Nocturne shortly after the first one aired, it's been a bit of a wait for its return.
In Castlevania: Nocturne, fans are introduced to a Richter Belmont, a descendant of the original show's protagonists Trevor and Sophia. He went up against powerful vampires in the French Revolution era in 1792.
Powerhouse Animation Studio is once again in charge of the animation of Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2, while the main cast and staff of the first season of Castlevania: Nocturne are set to return, so expect Edward Bluemel, Pixie Davies, Thuso Mbedu, Sydney James Harcourt, Natassia Kinski, Zahn McClarnon, and Franka Potente reprise their roles for the second season. Showrunners Clive Bradley and Kevin Kolde will also return.
What is Castlevania: Nocturne about?
Set 300 years after the events of the four-season original run, Castlevania: Nocturne introduced a new group of vampire hunters and vampires. For those unfamiliar with Castlevania: Nocturne, you can check out Netflix's official synopsis for the animated series here:
