The Fall Of The House Of Usher Plot
This mini horror series is based on The Fall of the House of Usher, written by Edgar Allen Poe and first published in 1839. In the story, the unidentified narrator reaches the deteriorating ancestral house of his childhood friend, Robert Usher (Bruce Greenwood), who is sure he will soon pass away.
Roderick lives together with his beautiful twin sister, Madeline Usher (Mary McDonell), but she’s sick. During the narrator’s first visit, Roderick tells him that Madeline has passed away and asks the narrator to help put her body away in the family vault. As the days slowly pass after Madeline’s death and burial, Roderick deteriorates quickly.
During this time, he has the creepy and chilling suspicion that his twin sister might still be alive and is trapped in the tomb. Soon after, Madeline returns completely covered in blood and attacks her brother before he runs to save his life. The narrator quietly watches from some distance as the house tears apart in two and sinks into the lake. Read the entire synopsis of The Fall of the House of Usher miniseries below:
