There is little doubt that everyone is looking forward to One Piece Season 2 now that the live-action series has been confirmed and Eiichiro Oda announced Chopper will be part of the second season. But what are the chances that Chopper's adoptive mother will be played by Jamie Lee Curtis? Producer Matt Owens is also trying to get the Halloween star to join the show's highly anticipated next season!

Curtis has already expressed her interest in joining the One Piece live-action series, specifically with the intention of playing Doctor Kureha. "ONCE the STRIKE against the greed of the AMTPT is SETTLED with a FAIR CONTRACT, I will lobby along with the growing fan frenzy to become Doctor Kureha in @onepiecenetflix," she wrote in an Instagram post.

Not surprisingly, Owens replied to the post with an excited offer. "Mommy dearest, that’s why we sent you that figure! No need to lobby. Once we get what we deserve and get back to work let’s talk!" he wrote.

This is awesome news considering that people are expecting to see Curtis take on the role of Kureha in the second season. Hopefully, something will work out for the series as fans are ready for Kureha's big live-action debut on the show.

It's great to know that the second season of One Piece could feature Curtis as Kureha. However, it is still when the series will begin production. Moreover, there are concerns that the live-action adaptation will not be able to film until later next year.

When Will One Piece Season 2 Begin Production?

For now, One Piece Season 2 has not yet been given a production start date or an official release date. There are also speculations that the show will not be able to move forward unless the strikes conclude and allow the actors to begin filming.

Luckily, the WGA strikes are now over and it's only a matter of time before the SAG-AFTRA strikes will reach a necessary settlement. Still, it might be too soon to expect the show to begin production right away. Nevertheless, fans are hoping that filming will finally start sometime later this year or in early 2024.
