The release of Netflix’s One Piece is getting closer, and the streamer and the cast have been continuously hyping up the series more. And now, Iñaki Godoy invites everyone to boldly take on a new adventure as he shares some words of wisdom with everyone.
Based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga of the same name, this will be the first time that fans are about to see a live-action adaptation of One Piece, 26 years after the franchise began. That said, there are high expectations surrounding the show, and many hope the series can live up to the hype.
Netflix dropped Godoy’s new video on X (formerly Twitter) while in his character as Luffy and making reference to One Piece. The one-minute clip features the Mexican actor calling out everyone who sees it, asking if they ever have the feeling that there’s something more to life that is just waiting for them.
“I know I do,” he says. “No point just sitting around, though. Let’s do something about it.”
The 20-year-old continues that today could be the start of a new adventure and invites everyone to go out and explore—even if it means just going around the corner. It can be by hanging out with a crew or welcoming a new mate.
“Life’s one big adventure, but only if you’re brave enough to follow your dreams,” he adds. “Trust me, you’ll have a blast.”
Godoy continuously gives fans advice to take on a new life by bravely picking up some new moves, whether it’s Gum-Gum Pistons or Santoryu, and to get stronger with every step of the way. He even asserts treasures will never fall into their lap without doing anything. Like a pirate, they have to hunt for them.
“The world’s outside, brimming with answers and full of unexpected turns. All you gotta do is take that leap into the wild blue horizon,” he says. “So, get out there and grab it. I’m rooting for ya. Let’s follow our dreams!”

Iñaki Godoy on His Role as Luffy in One Piece
True enough, Godoy has taken on a big leap when he joins the cast of One Piece and even plays the lead role of Luffy. In an interview with Teen Vogue, he said he made sure he would have the smile of Luffy when he auditioned, knowing it was one of the most important traits of the iconic character.
And as he officially became a part of the film, he knew it worked. Oda even personally picked him to play as the Straw Hat captain. So, when he asked the mangaka why he chose him, the Japanese artist only said he made him laugh during his audition.
Oda has been heavily involved in making Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece. And on August 31, fans will finally see how the streamer develops this incredible series, and many can no longer wait.
