Netflix is continuously hyping up the upcoming release of its live-action adaptation of One Piece. Sure, before Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji became the Straw Hat Pirates members, they were once kids with big dreams to fulfill someday. And now, the streamer drops new images of the young Straw Hats, hinting at the beginning of an incredible story.
Based on Eiichiro Oda’s masterpiece of the same name, One Piece has become a huge media franchise since its serialization started on July 22, 1997. Twenty-six years later, it now has a long-running anime series, many animated films, and video games, not to mention an upcoming live-action adaptation.
Netflix’s One Piece’s official X page (formerly known as Twitter) shows the young versions of Nami, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji. A few minutes later, it shares a photo of a young Luffy with his trademark scar on his face.
“Every great journey starts with a dream,” its caption reads. True enough, the photos show what these young pirates dream of, with Zoro holding his sword on the lead. In another snap, Sanji seems to be hiding behind a chair while holding a knife.
In addition, Nami is diligently listening while someone is seemingly handing her a book, while Usopp seems lost in his own thoughts. Lastly, the young Luffy looks ready for action as he is about to run. You can see the photos below:
