Netflix has dropped a new batch of images for its upcoming live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece. The streamer has successfully built incredible hype for the latest TV series with several promotions here and there. So though some cast doubts on how the long-running manga will be adapted, with a big budget in tow, it can’t be denied that it looks every inch promising.
One Piece follows the story of Luffy, who is looking for a powerful artifact to be the new Pirate King. The manga, written and illustrated by Oda, has been serialized since 1997 and now has 106 tankōbon volumes. With its success, it has already spawned a media franchise, being adapted into several movies and an anime series.
The new images give a new look at Garp, Koby, and Helmeppo, played by Vincent Regan, Morgan Davies, and Aidan Scott, respectively. Shanks, portrayed by Peter Gadiot, also has a solo snap, seemingly looking at something far, far away with deep thoughts.
In another post on Netfix’s One Piece’s account on Twitter, the trio of Luffy, Zoro, and Nami is seen. There’s also a picture of Luffy with Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji.
