Netflix has a new K-drama offering, and this time, it features the nation’s first love, Bae Suzy. The streamer has released the official trailer for Doona!, which features the blossoming romance between its lead stars, the former Miss A member and the rising star Yang Se-Jong.
After appearing on Coupang Play’s Anna in 2022, Bae Suzy is back with a new K-drama on Netflix. Based on the webtoon The Girl Downstairs by Min Songa, fans are about to see the 28-year-old star playing the role of a former K-pop star, Doona. Directed by the Crash Landing on You director Lee Jung-Hyo, this will surely make fans fall in love.
The trailer begins with Doona telling Lee Won-Joon (Yang Se-Jong) that she will never fall for him. As this only makes the latter smirk, Doona finds herself slowly falling in love with Won-Joon despite being from different universes.
“I can’t help wanting more,” Won-Joon said, as he craves to be with Doona often. As Doona seems to have no plans to reciprocate his feelings, he starts to complain about her being unfair for coming into his life and shaking his world out of nowhere. As the preview features a montage of scenes between the two, Doona wakes up to the question, “What is Lee Doona like as a pop idol?”

What is Doona! about?
Doona! tells the story of Lee Doona, a retired K-pop idol who turns her back from the spotlight to live a much more peaceful life. She decides to live in a communal home, where she’s about to meet Lee Won-Joon after moving into the same apartment on his first day of college. Little did he know that he would meet a beautiful celebrity living downstairs.
Though Won-Joon tries his best to avoid her, he finds himself curious about her mysterious life. The unexpected happens between their occasional meetings and outings, as he ends up falling in love with her. Doona doesn’t have the same feelings for him, but everything will change as the story continues.
