Bae Suzy is back in the K-drama world in the upcoming Netflix series Doona! This much-awaited new show has been in talks since it was announced in 2022. After over a year, the streamer finally gives a backstage pass at the making of Doona!
Based on the webtoon The Girl Downstairs by Min Songa, Doona! will mark the return of Bae Suzy on the small screen after 2022’s Anna. Here, she will play the titular role of Doona, who chose to leave her glamorous life as a celebrity and later meet the college student Lee Won Joon (Yang Se Jong). And before they officially hit Netflix, here’s a behind-the-scenes clip from the show.
The 61-second preview started with Lee Won Joon asking Doona what it was like when she was still a K-pop idol. With great interest, he found himself searching for her on the internet and diving into the world of K-pop to learn more about his new roommate.
From there, Bae Suzy introduced herself as Lee Doona, the group Dream Street’s main vocalist. It then followed a montage of scenes where she was seen performing, modeling, and preparing for the show while checking her sequences on the camera.

What is Doona! about?
Doona! follows the story of Lee Doo Na, a retired K-pop idol who lives quietly and peacefully away from the camera. She’s now living in a communal house, where she will meet Lee Won Joon, who ends up living with her in the same home.
Lee Won Joon sees himself falling in love with Lee Doo Na, but the latter doesn’t have the same feelings for him. However, as they continuously live together and spend more time with each other, she begins to unveil her past as a K-pop star.

When will Doona! be released?
