The trailer, shared via Netflix Korea’s official YouTube channel and X account (@NetflixKR) earlier today, introduces viewers to a world of secrets and lost memories. The story centers on Hongrang (Lee Jae-wook), a long-missing heir who returns after 12 years with no recollection of his past, stirring both love and suspicion within his family and community.
The teaser also gives us glimpses of Hongrang's half-sister Jae-yi (Cho Bo-ah), who spent years searching for him, and in the previous trailer, we saw her accuse him of being an imposter, refusing to believe he is her beloved long-lost brother. There are also hints at the unraveling of dark family secrets tied to Joseon’s largest merchant group, setting the tone for a narrative filled with emotional depth and mystery. The haunting visuals, paired with a melancholic score, suggest a tale of love, betrayal, and self-discovery, leaving viewers eager to uncover Hongrang’s true identity.
Accompanying the trailer, Netflix Korea also released a new poster that has fans buzzing. The poster features the two leads in traditional Joseon attire. Jae-yi is dressed in a white hanbok, her expression intense and enigmatic, while Hongrang, with long hair, is dressed in darker tones, gazing forward with a mix of determination and vulnerability. The backdrop of the poster, with its muted tones and traditional Korean architecture, further immerses viewers in the historical setting of the series. Dear Hongrang Cast
Other than Lee Jae-wook and Cho Bo-ah, Dear Hongrang also stars Jung Ga-ram (Love Alarm) as Mu-jin, the adopted son of the Sim merchant family who assumed Hongrang's place upon his mysterious disappearance. Uhm Ji-won (Little Women) plays Min Yeon-ui, Hongrang’s mother and head of the Min Family’s Guild, .
Park Byung-eun (The Bequeathed, Kingdom: Ashin of the North) depicts Sim Yeol-guk, the father of Hongrang and Jae-yi, and the Chief Merchant. Kim Jae-uck (Melo Movie) plays Grand Prince Hanpyeong, an an artist with the finest taste in Joseon.
