Netflix is about to introduce a new reality dating show mixed with a little K-drama. Titled Love Like a K-drama, the new series will feature four Korean actors and four Japanese actresses who will live together to try to strike up a romance and even land lead roles in real, mini K-dramas. And to give a glimpse of the new pairs fans are about to see, the streamer has dropped its first trailer, and there are a lot of kissing scenes.
The preview begins with Kim Dong Kyu and Rio Yamashita kissing. However, it remains to be seen if their intimate scene is just acting or love until the director says, “Cut!” From there, the four pairs pose for a picture. A man then shouts, “Action!” and another couple is seen sharing a passionate kiss again.
Later, Yamashita admits that what they did was just acting, as she has never been in love before. The next sequence sees Honoka Kitahara being scolded by someone who looks like the director, asking her if that’s how she shows affection to a loved one. As the group also learns to act, they will soon know if their feelings are already real or just for the show. “Neither the romance nor the acting is going well,” one female contender says.
