Squid Game fans are in for a treat next month. Though the second season may take time before it finally comes out, Netflix is about to release its new reality TV series, Squid Game: The Challenge, based on the award-winning South Korean survival drama. The streamer has now dropped a new trailer, asking everyone to prepare for the next games.
“Attention next players, it’s now time for the next games,” the trailer begins as the familiar song, Mugunghwa kkoci pieot seumnida, from the murderous robotic doll Younghee plays in the background. As the players start to come in, they are in awe of the massiveness of the place and its likeness to the hit 2021 thriller.
However, it looks like new games will be added after a scene shows a claw machine game being played by one player. “This is a savage game,” one contender describes. And just like in the original series, Younghee will shoot anyone who moves in the Red Light, Green Light. But there's nothing to worry about, as no one is about to die here.
From there, the players’ emotions are revealed one by one, as some start to cry and argue, as alliance and betrayal begin. “You have been eliminated,” the preview ends, as one player drops from the Hopscotch after jumping on the wrong square.
