The anime adaptation of Tsuyoshi Fujitaka's My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered, No One in This Other World Stands a Chance Against Me! (Sokushi Cheat ga Saikyōsugite, Isekai no Yatsura ga marude Aite ni Naranain Desu ga.) light novel series is one of the most highly-anticipated isekai shows coming next year. Today, the official website of the television anime series has revealed a new key visual, three additional cast members, and the opening theme song details. It also announced that the anime is scheduled to premiere on January 4.

The opening song of the anime will be performed by the Japanese hiphop duo, Hilcrhyme, and its title is Killer Bars.

My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered anime will be directed by Masakazu Hishida (Fairy Ranmaru, Ensemble Stars!, KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm at animation studio Okuru to Noboru. Jou Aoba (Hishida's penname) will be writing the scripts of the anime while Sayuri Sakimoto (Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki OAV 5/2020) is in charge of the character designs. The music of the anime will be composed by Hanae Nakamura, Tatsuhiko Saiki, Kanade Sakuma, and Daisuke Kadowaki.

Awaking to absolute chaos and carnage while on a school trip, Yogiri Takatou discovers that everyone in his class has been transported to another world! He had somehow managed to sleep through the entire ordeal himself, missing out on the Gift — powers bestowed upon the others by a mysterious Sage who appeared to transport them. Even worse, he and another classmate were ruthlessly abandoned by their friends, left as bait to distract a nearby dragon. Although not terribly bothered by the thought of dying, he reluctantly decides to protect his lone companion. After all, a lowly Level 1000 monster doesn't stand a chance against his secret power to invoke Instant Death with a single thought! If he can stay awake long enough to bother using it, that is...
Fujitaka originally released the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2016 before Earth Star Entertainment acquired the rights and started pubishing it with art by Chisato Naruse. A manga adaptation titled My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered —AΩ— is being serialized by Hanamaru Nanto since 2018, and J-Novel Clu also licensed the manga in English.
