My Demon is in its second half after the release of Episode 9, The Unmasked Truth. Jung Gu-won (Song Kang) finally saw the real face of his and Do Do-hee’s (Kim Yoo-jung) attacker after the guy stabbed him in the chest in Episode 8, The Fateful Choice. As this finally gives Gu-won a chance to confront the assailant using his powers, he and Do-hee may finally learn who the mastermind behind these attacks is.
Do-hee’s life has been in danger ever since My Demon started, but things even turn worse after chairwoman Joo Cheon-sook (Kim Hae-sook) mysteriously died and left the company in her hands. This starts the war between Do-hee and Cheon-sook’s family, and as she suspects someone is behind the chairwoman’s demise, she starts investigating Madam Ju’s grandson, Noh Do-gyeong (Kang Seung-ho).
Do-hee suspects Do-gyeong has something to do with Madam Ju’s death after he smiled at her maniacally at her wedding. So, on the first day of her marriage to Gu-won, she quickly asks him to tail Do-gyeong. Here, they see him opening a public locker at a subway station, the same place where Do-hee’s attacker previously left a bag. By the looks of it, the show has been hinting at the connection between Do-gyeong and Do-hee and Gu-won’s aggressor.
Is Noh Do-Gyeong the attacker's boss, ABRAXAS?
The mysterious guy attacking Do-hee in My Demon works for someone who uses an alias, ABRAXAS. This guy has been feeding the attacker details about Do-hee and Gu-won and probably knows about the latter’s power and how it works.
That said, there are theories that ABRAXAS is Do-gyeong, and he has been working with Do-hee’s attacker to bring her and Gu-won down. The revelation of the identity of Do-hee’s attacker and ABRAXAS is expected to happen in the second half of My Demon. If Do-gyeong isn’t ABRAXAS or not even the one behind Madam Ju’s death, he may be the key for Do-hee and Gu-won to learn who’s the real mastermind of the killing and the attacks.
Aside from Do-Gyeong, fans should also keep their eyes on Madam Ju's son, Noh Seok-min (Kim Tae-hoon), and his wife, Kim Se-ra (Jo Yeon-hee), as they seem to be planning something against Do-hee. Also, Do-hee's cousin, Joo Seok-hoon (Lee Sang-yi), appears to be doubting and investigating Gu-won.
Who fans think is the mastermind?
On X (formerly Twitter), fans have different theories about who the mastermind could be in My Demon. User @feverfudge believes it's Seok-hoon, considering him as the red herring and the psycho villain. To give the series a major twist, he might be different from the kind cousin everyone expects him to be.
Also, @moshirxi assumes Madam Ju's eldest son is the one behind all the attacks. Seok-min was seen killing Do-hee and Gu-won's attacker after the latter saw his face, and this could mean that he knew Gu-won would be after him.
After Gu-won found the recorder in his office, he realized another culprit could be the real mastermind. Surely, he will be on a hunt to know who's behind all these.
My Demon Episode 10 will be released on SBS and Netflix on Saturday, December 23. As the show continuously gets interesting, fans should look forward to getting all the answers to the mysteries happening in the series pretty soon.
