Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Episode 20 Preview: Paul Reunites With Rudy & Elinalise in The Labyrinth City

Last week, the Labyrinth Arc of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Part 2 officially kicked off in Episode 19, Desert Journey, which saw Rudeus Greyrat and Elinalise Dragonroad leaving their friends and family in the Magic City of Sharia in the Kingdom of Ranoa to travel to the Labyrinth City of Rapan in the Begaritt continent. After traveling through the teleport that allowed them to get to the continent faster, they journeyed through the vast desert and battled various monsters along the way. The ending of that episode showed them reaching the Labyrinth City of Rapan.

The official website of the anime has revealed preview stills and a synopsis for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Episode 20, titled Into the Labyrinth, and it shows Rudy and Elinalise finally arriving in Rapan, and reuniting with Rudy's father, Paul Greyrat. They also meet the dwarf Geese, and they start to plan their mission to rescue Zenith in the labyrinth. The synopsis also teases Roxy Migurdia's mysterious whereabouts as the party prepares for their dangerous mission. Fans are also wondering how Elinalise and Paul will interact during their reunion. The two have a complicated history, and it's likely that we will see Rudy find out more about it.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Episode 20 is scheduled to premiere this Sunday, June 2. Studio Bind is still producing the animation for the popular isekai anime. The official synopsis of the twentieth episode of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 reads:

When Rudeus and Elinalise arrive at the labyrinth city of Rapan, they immediately find Geese and are led to Paul and Lilia. Paul is exhausted and haggard from not being able to rescue Zenith, and Rudeus speaks to him kindly. They discuss how to conquer the labyrinth where Zenith is, but Roxy, who should be there, is nowhere to be seen...

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Part 2 is directed by Ryousuke Shibuya (The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World), marking the second directional change for the anime series (Season 1 was directed by Onimai‘s Shingo Fujii, and the assistant director of the first season, Hiroki Hirano, directed Season 2 Part 1). As for the returning staff: Toshiya Oono is the series composer once again while Yoshiko Saitou (Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible) and Sanae Shimada are the character designers. The art director is Masakazu Miyake, and the music composer is Yoshiaki Fujisawa.

What is Labyrinth Arc of Mushoku Tensei about?

The Labyrinth Arc (迷宮編 Meikyū-hen) is expected to adapt the final chapters of Volume 11 and most likely the entire Volume 12 of the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation light novel series written Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by Shirotaka. Seven Seas Entertainment shared an official synopsis for Vol. 12:

Rudeus and Paul must descend into the deadly depths of a Teleportation Labyrinth to rescue Zenith. The father-son duo makes short work of deadly beasts and ancient magical traps, but it's the terrible truth at the Labyrinth's heart that proves the greatest threat of all. What happens when all hope is shattered beyond recall?
