Money Heist fans have a new spinoff to look forward to after the Spanish series ended in December 2021. The show will be back on the small screens with Money Heist: Berlin, featuring the story of one of the show's beloved characters, Berlin, and its new trailer reveals when it will officially be released.
Money Heist is a Spanish heist crime drama created by Álex Pina. With the show’s success, it has seen a couple of iterations, from a South Korean adaptation to the new upcoming spinoff. Officially announced in November 2021, Berlin was created by Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato and would introduce a new group in Berlin with a completely “different emotional state.”
The new trailer starts with the titular character himself, Berlin, saying he’s “looking for something unique,” as translated into English. From there, a montage of scenes from the series, from two precious diamond and pearl necklaces to a glimpse of Cameron, are seen.
“Enthusiasm. Beauty. Freshness. All the things that make life worth living,” Berlin continues. The preview introduces each character fans are about to meet as they prepare for their first biggest heist. You can watch the trailer below:
What is Money Heist: Berlin about?
Berlin tells the story of Berlin long before he finds out about his illness and takes the Royal Mint of Spain hostage. It will feature the character’s golden age as he tries to perform one of his extraordinary heists, stealing $44 million worth of jewels.
Of course, he can’t do it alone, as he needs the help of other savvy criminals, like Keila, Damián, Roi, Bruce, and his close friend, Cameron. Pina told Tudum that the spinoff would be full of “white-collar crimes, tension, travel, romance, and humor.” This time, the creator promised to make the viewers laugh.
