Netflix has officially greenlit the sequel to its action-comedy hit Mission: Cross, bringing back fan-favorite leads Hwang Jung-min and Yum Jung-ah alongside an expanded ensemble. The production team announced on November 13 that Mission: Cross 2 is moving forward, promising another high-stakes adventure for the undercover couple.
Hwang Jung-min reprises his role as Park Kang-mu, a retired secret agent turned devoted househusband who conceals his dangerous past from his wife. In the new installment, Kang-mu receives a classified directive from the President to retrieve stolen national treasures and halt their illegal export abroad. Yum Jung-ah returns as Kang Mi-seon, a sharp Violent Crimes Unit detective and former national shooting team member, who teams up with her husband to dismantle the smuggling ring.
Supporting the core duo, Jung Man-sik, Lee Ho-chul, and Cha Rae-hyung reunite as the Violent Crimes Unit’s leader and key investigators, ensuring the same squad dynamics that drove the original’s investigative chaos.
Joining the fray are several notable newcomers. Yoon Kyung-ho portrays Cheon In-hak, the enigmatic leader of a clandestine organization orchestrating the artifact heist. Im Seong-jae steps in as Duchil, a cunning black-market dealer facilitating the illicit trade. Veteran actor Cha In-pyo rounds out the fresh cast as the nation’s President, issuing Kang-mu’s urgent mission.
The sequel shifts the spotlight to cultural heritage preservation, blending espionage, marital banter, and large-scale action as the couple navigates international smuggling networks while keeping their personal secrets intact.
What is Mission: Cross about?
The original Mission: Cross follows Park Kang-mu (Hwang Jung-min), a former elite agent now living a quiet domestic life to shield his wife, Kang Mi-seon (Yum Jung-ah), from his lethal history. Mi-seon, unaware of her husband’s background, works as a dedicated Violent Crimes detective. When their worlds collide through overlapping cases, the pair must balance undercover operations with everyday marriage, delivering a mix of thrills, humor, and heartfelt moments.
Mission: Cross 2 will premiere exclusively on Netflix, with further release details to be announced. In the meantime, the first Mission: Cross is available for streaming now on Netflix.
