Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 2 (The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc) has released a new teaser trailer and key visual ahead of its January 2024 premiere. The trailer features the anime's new opening theme song titled Bling-Bang-Bang-Born by Creepy Nuts, and it gives us our first look at the new characters that will be introduced in the upcoming season. The second season will be animated by the same studio that animated the first, A-1 Pictures.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 1 concluded in June 2023 after airing 12 episodes. Season 2 will cover the Divine Visionary Selection Exam arc (Shinkakusha Kōho Senbatsu Shiken-Hen) which is expected to cover Chapters 41 to 74 of Hajime Komoto's manga series.

The new characters introduced in the new Mashle: Magic and Muscles trailer are the Divine Visionaries. The title of Divine Missionary is given to an exceptional student amongst one of the 3 magic schools, revered as one of God's chosen once every year. As the core of Bureau of Magic, they are considered to be some of the most influential sorcerers of the country.

What is Mashle: Magic and Muscles about?

Mashle: Magic and Muscles is based on the manga written and illustrated by Hajime Komoto. The fantasy comedy series has been serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump since January 2020, and it recently concluded in July 2023 with a total of 18 volumes. VIZ holds the license of the series in English, and it's available to read on MANGA Plus. Here's the official synopsis of Mashle:

This is a world of magic where magic is used for everything. But deep in the forest exists a young man who spends his time training and bulking up. He can’t use magic, but he enjoys a peaceful life with his father. But one day, his life is put in danger! Will his muscular body protect him from the magic users who are out to get him? Powerfully trained muscles crush magic as this abnormal magical fantasy begins!

Mashle is described to be a mix of Harry Potter, One-Punch Man, and Black Clover because of its story elements, setting, and characters.
