Mashle: Magic and Muscles, one of the funniest anime shows that aired this year, surely hooked audiences who wanted a good laugh. The anime, which was produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Tomoya Tanaka, is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Kōmoto. The first season aired from April 8 to July 1, 2023, on TV Tokyo, and was made available to stream on Crunchyroll, and now, fans want to know if Season 2 is coming.

For the unfamiliar, Mashle is a Harry Potter-inspired comedy story that follows Mash Burnedead, a powerful boy who lives in a magical world populated by wizards, but unlike most of the people he meets, he doesn't have the power to cast magic. However, his lack of sorcery doesn't stop him from being powerful enough to take down wizards; he compensates for his shortcomings by becoming insanely strong with just his physical attributes.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles Potential Release Date: When is Mashle Season 2 coming?

Just after the finale of Season 1 aired, Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 2 was officially confirmed.

The official Twitter account of Mashle: Magic and Muscles made the announcement alongside a short teaser, which confirmed that the anime would return in January 2024. Recently, the anime officially confirmed that Season 2 will premiere. on January 6, 2024.

The first season of Mashle: Magic and Muscles adapted the Easton Enrollment Arc and the Magia Lupus Arc, which covered the first 39 chapters of Hajime Komoto's manga series. Season 2 will adapt the manga's Divine Visionary Selection Examination Arc. This news was confirmed alongside the anime's Season 2 announcement and short teaser, so expect Season 2 to adapt Chapters 41 to 74 of the manga.

The arc is expected to introduce the 'Prefect' system of Easton Magic Academy, and it's expected to center on the Divine Visionary Selection Exam, which is used to find the student that will become the newest member of the Divine Visionaries. The title of Divine Missionary is given to an exceptional student amongst one of the 3 magic schools, revered as one of God's chosen once every year. As the core of Bureau of Magic, they are considered to be some of the most influential sorcerers of the country.

The next story arc in the manga is the Execution Arc, a short story that leads into the bigger Divine Visionary Selection Exam Arc, which runs from Chapters 44 to 77. Without getting into major spoilers, the arc introduces some silly wacky new characters, including a group of school Prefects and triple-liner magic users.

As of July 2023, the Mashle manga series officially ended with Chapter 163, so that means that if the anime adaptation plans to adapt the entire series, it'll likely take three to four seasons to complete.
