Mashle: Magic and Muscles - The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc (Season 2) officially started airing earlier this month, and three episodes have been released so far. Now, the official website of the anime has shared preview stills, synopsis, and staff information for Episode 16 (Season 2, Episode 4), which is scheduled to premiere on January 27, 2024.

The title of Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 2 Episode 4 is Mash Burnedead and the Brawny Balloon, and the upcoming episode will kick-start the Divine Visionary Candidate Exam, which will see Mash, his friends, and other competitors overcome various challenges. The official synopsis for Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 2 Episode 4 reads:

The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam has finally begun. Previously, the rule was that only those who collected five or more gold-grade coins could proceed to the second exam, but this year, the exam was accelerated due to the intervention of the innocent Fuchi Gen (Innocent Zero). For this reason, it was decided that those with three or more gold-grade coins would be eligible. Therefore, Mash, Finn, Lance, and Dot, who were able to participate in the second test, take on the dead or alive preliminaries called "The Hunting Ground of the Dead"!

What is Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 2 about?

Mashle: Magic and Muscles anime is based on Hajime Komoto's Mashle manga series, which has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from January 2020 and recently ended in July 2023. The series has a total of 162 chapters, and there are currently 16 volumes to date. Season 2 is adapting the Divine Visionary Selection Exam Arc, which is the fourth arc of the manga that picks up at Chapter 44. A-1 Pictures is animating the new season.

The arc is expected to introduce the 'Prefect' system of Easton Magic Academy, and it's expected to center on the Divine Visionary Selection Exam, which is used to find the student that will become the newest member of the Divine Visionaries. The title of Divine Missionary is given to an exceptional student amongst one of the 3 magic schools, revered as one of God's chosen once every year. As the core of Bureau of Magic, they are considered to be some of the most influential sorcerers of the country.

New episodes of Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 2 are being released weekly on Crunchyroll, and Episode 15 (Season 2 Episode 3) is scheduled to premiere on Saturday, January 27. We can expect the second season to have a total of 12 episodes, so that means we can expect 9 more new episodes to arrive in the Winter 2024 anime season.
