While Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 does feature quite a lot of easter eggs and surprise appearances, unfortunately, Wolverine is not among any of them. Since Insomniac Games is also developing the Wolverine game, many fans were anticipating that there might be some trace or hint of the game in Spider-Man 2, which unfortunately did not happen.
You might be thinking that the cameo is a well-hidden secret that hasn’t been found yet, but as it turns out, there isn’t one in the game at all. Insomniac Games’ creative director Bryan Intihar explained the reason behind their decision not to add a Wolverine cameo in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 during a talk with Kinda Funny. Intihar said:
Intihar further claimed that both Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine are set in the same universe, i.e., the Earth-1048 universe. However, it sounds like players won’t get to see many crossovers between the two games, not anytime soon, at least. This decision might just be for the better because, even though it would be pretty cool, it could complicate things.
The chances of that happening are high, especially for a series that doesn't even have a release window yet and already expects high expectations that might pressure it. Many players have been wondering about Wolverine appearing in Spider-Man 2, and it looks like they just got their answer. Although the Wolverine cameo won’t be featured in the game, there is a Wolverine suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that players can get their hands on.
What do we know about Marvel’s Wolverine game?

Even though the game was announced two years ago, we haven’t gotten any updates from the developers on the topic ever since. Even now that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been released, we are still yet to get any official updates from the developers on the topic of Marvel’s Wolverine. During the Kinda Funny podcast, the game’s director said he wants to “let [the Wolverine development team] make the game they want to make”, implying that the project is in the works.
For now, we only have the game’s announcement trailer, which showed off Wolverine in a bar fight. However, now that Spider-Man 2 has been completed and released, we hope that Insomniac Games will now shift their focus towards the Wolverine project. If this is the case, then we can expect an update soon, which we hope we get.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is currently available to play exclusively on PlayStation 5.
