Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is Insomniac Games’ latest and biggest project that has gained a major fan following. This is especially true since the company has previously worked on two successful Spider-Man projects, including the first Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. So following these games, the third installment had a lot of hype built around it.
When Insomniac Games announced the game back in 2021, they also announced a new Wolverine project that was previously known as Marvel’s Wolverine. However, the game didn’t share the same fate as Spider-Man, because it hasn’t received any new updates ever since it got announced.
Does Spider-Man 2 Feature a Wolverine Cameo?
The lack of any news from Insomniac Games has led fans to suspect that the character in question might show up in the latest Spider-Man 2 game. It seemed likely that this could happen since the Wolverine project might have been delayed to allow the company to work on Spider-Man 2. If this is so, then the company might want to include a Wolverine cameo to keep fans’ hopes alive.
Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait long to find the answer to this question since Spider-Man 2 has just officially been released, and unfortunately for Wolverine fans, he does not appear in the game. This suggests that Insomniac Games wants to keep the two characters separate. Moreover, we currently have no confirmation either if Marvel’s Wolverine will take place in the same universe as the three Marvel’s Spider-Man games.
Wolverine Hints and Suit in Spider-Man 2
Although the game doesn’t feature any Wolverine cameo, it does contain some hints referring to the X-Men, which Wolverine is a part of. In the game, there is an abandoned mansion in Queens that resembles the X-mansion. Moreover, it also contains a large “X” logo spray painted on it, confirming the location’s identity. There is also a suit for Miles Morales called “Best There Is Suit”, which shows the young Spider-Man wearing the Wolverine outfit.
Marvel’s Wolverine is yet to receive any official updates from Insomniac Games. We hope the company is still working on the project and doesn’t end up scrapping it. Currently, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is available to play on the PS5.
