Marvel Comics is working on a new Wolverine comic that is unlike others we see from them normally. They’re turning a new page (pun intended) with their latest project, which is a gore and blood-filled comic for Wolverine called Wolverine: Revenge. It’s being written by Jonathan Hickman, who was the scribe for Ultimate Spider-Man, and drawn by Greg Capullo. He is a former Batman artist who returned to Marvel Comics last year with a new blood-covered Wolverine cover variant.
It seems like Marvel Comics saw Deadpool & Wolverine’s "strong bloody violence" and thought they’re not gonna be left out of all the violence. On Wednesday, they released the Red Band Wolverine comic covers, which look like a more graphic version of Marvel's vampire event Blood Hunt. These Red Band variants will also include “explicit content” and “elevated violence” that will not be in the standard variants.
These covers are made with the collaboration of multiple artists, including Leinil Francis Yu, Pablo Villalobos, Mark Brooks, Takashi Okazaki, David Nakayama, John Giang, Sean Galloway, and Stanley "Artgerm" Lau.
Greg Capullo, when talking about the series, said, "I've finally returned home to Marvel, and I'm ready to raise some Hell. And, who better to do that with than the Hitman Hickman? To celebrate, Marvel has removed the fences and let us off our leash so that we can bring the most vicious and punishing Wolverine story possible to the fans this summer. I hope they're prepared."
"Well, obviously it's such a privilege to get to work with a legend like Greg," Hickman said. "When we first talked about the project, our number one concern was taking the readers on a high-octane, no-hold-barred Wolverine story that was a proper celebration of both the character and Greg returning to Marvel. And like he said, the bosses cut us loose and the result is an absolutely wild book. Honestly can't wait for everyone to get to check it out."
The Wolverine: Revenge comic series, which will even have a "reader discretion advised" label, will see Wolverine fight off a ton of enemies with one thing on his mind: “Revenge”. Wolverine’s enemies in the series consist of Sabretooth, Omega Red, Deadpool, and more.

When will Wolverine: Revenge come out?
Seeing all the posters that were recently revealed by Marvel Comics, fans of the comics are impatiently waiting for them to come out. Wolverine: Revenge #1 will be available to purchase starting August 21, 2024.
The writers and creators really sound like they’re excited to work on these comics since Marvel has raised a lot of restrictions from them this time around. We can’t wait to see what they come up with and how this series sets the ground for more blood and gore-filled Marvel Comics.
