One of the most popular Marvel video games that came out in 2021 is now completely free for players to own. In the last couple of years, Marvel has greatly revived itself in the world of gaming, with many hit titles such as Marvel's Midnight Suns, Marvel's Spider-Man, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. Many more games are also currently in development, with the most popular ones being Marvel’s Blade and Marvel’s Wolverine.
One specific Marvel game recently reached a new price low and can be bought for absolutely no cost. Players can get Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy from the Epic Games Store, but it's worth noting that this offer is only valid for a week. According to some previous leaks, Guardians of the Galaxy is the first-ever free game Epic Games has decided to roll out on a weekly basis in 2024 on its PC marketplace.
This offer is officially live now and will remain active from January 4 till the morning of January 11, 2024. Once this offer ends, players can expect to see a new game called Sail Forth that’ll replace GOTG and become available on EGS. While it’s not as popular as PlayStation’s Marvel’s Spider-Man series, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy was received pretty well from both fans and critics in the past few years.
The action-adventure game currently holds a powerful aggregate of 80/100 on Metacritic, with its “User Score” being a whopping 8.6/10. What is Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy about?
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy takes us on an explosive ride through the universe as we witness the new adventures of our beloved and chaotic Guardians. With the fate of the universe at hand, they have to try and survive while fighting to save the universe from its impending doom. Surprisingly, the game only lets you play as Star-Lord instead of all the Guardians.
Instead, the game introduces a new mechanic where we can ask for the assistance of any of the Guardians that are available to Star-Lord at the moment. Another interesting new mechanic in this game is that you can huddle up with the Guardians at certain points during your battle. If you make the correct choice of dialogue in this huddle, you end up motivating the whole team, which gives you a temporary advantage in combat as well. Now we know why Peter Quill is the leader!
