With the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 just around the corner, the gaming community is busy wondering if the game will launch on Xbox, PS4, or PC or if this will be another PS5 exclusive game. Initially, Spider-Man 1 was released exclusively for PS4 but was later developed for PC, as well. It has been five years since the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 1 and three years since the release of Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
The latest game in the series was also a PS5 exclusive and was the one that featured Miles Morales while Peter Parker was taking a vacation (not literally). In the game, we see Miles figure out just what type of Spider-Man he is while he learns to use his powers against his enemies. Spider-Man 2, which is set to release this year in October, will follow the stories of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as the two web-slingers head into battle against Venom and Kraven.
Will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release on PC?
At the time of writing, no news regarding the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC has been officially announced. However, the previous three titles in the Spider-Man series were initially also PlayStation exclusives, but Insomniac eventually decided to develop them for PC, as well.
So, there’s no saying for sure whether Spider-Man 2 will arrive on PC or not, but the chances are pretty high that it might. Unfortunately, even if it does, it would take a couple of years for it to develop and then finally release.
Will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release on PS4?
Since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be a next-gen exclusive, it, unfortunately, won’t release on the PS4 console. Since we are heading into a deeper and newer generation of consoles, many games are no longer being developed for older consoles.
Insomniac Games has made it a trend recently to release games on the next-generation consoles only. Since the release of the PS5 console, Spider-Man 2 will be Insomniac's third game that did not release on PS4.
Will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release on Xbox?
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will not release on any of the Xbox consoles since the game is a PlayStation exclusive. Since Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) acquired Insomniac Games in 2019, they are a part of the SIE, and their games are exclusively for the PlayStation consoles.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to release on PlayStation 5 on October 20, 2023.
