Fans have already seen the last of Talos in Secret Invasion. As everyone’s favorite Skrull is dead, fans aren’t the only ones unhappy about it. Ben Mendelsohn, the actor behind the character, is also sad that he won’t get to reprise his role in any Marvel Cinematic Universe projects and interact with the cast, crew, and fans.
First known as the bad guy, Talos turned from an evil general who planned to infiltrate and conquer Earth to an MCU ally. He was revealed to be a survivor trying to protect his people from the Supreme Intelligence who deceived Captain Marvel to hunt the Skrull refugees. Nick Fury and Captain Marvel later understood Talos’ mission: to find a new home for his kind.
In his appearance on the recent Marvel Assembled: The Making of Secret Invasion on Disney+, Mendelsohn, known for being one of the most in-demand villains in Hollywood, revealed he would miss everyone who had helped shape his Captain Marvel and Secret Invasion experience. Among the many roles he had played in his almost four decades in the business, MCU gave him a chance to play a different type of role in Talos.

Is Talos really dead in Secret Invasion?
Warning: The following content contains major spoilers. Read at your own risk.
Talos met his death in Secret Invasion Episode 4, aptly titled Beloved. After having the advantage over Fury, Gravik stabbed Talos in the heart, ultimately leading to his death quickly. Sadly, the Skrull didn’t have the Extremis DNA that would save him like it did with G’iah.

Many felt brokenhearted after seeing Talos’ demise, especially since his relationship with Fury was starting to blossom. His death also seems to mean nothing, so some wonder if he has really died or not.
Viewers have seen how Gravik, who’s also a Skrull, managed to recover from his wounds before, thanks to his power. However, Talos isn’t subjected to this, so nothing can save him from a knife wound. That said, Talos has really died in the series. It even proves that he’s the real Talos after shifting back into his normal Skrull skin following being stabbed, as his race can’t handle staying in human form if injured.
Hence, there may be no chance that fans will see Talos continuing his journey to protect his people in any MCU shows or movies. The only possibility that they may see him again is through flashbacks.
