A new trailer and visual for the Magical Explorer television anime have now gone public, giving a clearer look at the magic academy, the reincarnated side character, and the heroines around him. The series will premiere on October 3 at 24:00 JST on TOKYO MX, BS11, and additional Japanese channels.
The new trailer cuts between academy corridors, dungeon combat, and quieter character beats as Kosuke Takioto starts using game knowledge to rewrite a dating-sim world that was never meant to favor him. ASCA performs both theme songs for the series, with the opening titled Remedy and the ending titled Double Wings.
The latest visual places Kosuke beside several heroines under a line that frames his aim of growing stronger in order to protect the people around him. Those stills sit with the trailer as the last major look at the show before weekly episodes begin. Broadcast partners include TOKYO MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11 in the Saturday late-night slot, with later airings on additional regional stations.
The confirmed voice cast for the lead roles is as follows:

Kazuki Ohashi, known for Shadows House, is directing the adaptation. Satoko Sekine of Mysteria Friends is handling series composition, while Ryosuke Kimiya is serving as character designer. Kenichiro Suehiro, whose credits include Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, is composing the music, and WHITE FOX is producing the animation.
What is Magical Explorer anime about?
The anime is based on the light novel series Magical Explorer: Reborn as a Side Character in a Fantasy Dating Sim. Author Irisu first serialized the story on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in 2018 before KADOKAWA published it in print under the Sneaker Bunko label beginning in 2019, with illustrations by Noboru Kannatsuki. Yen Press licenses the novels in English, and a manga adaptation by Yukari Higa also exists. The series mixes isekai, adventure, comedy, and ecchi harem elements around a player who knows every route of a legendary adult game.

One day, our smut-loving hero wakes up to find he has been reincarnated into the body of the game’s dreamboat protagonist! Or rather, his hapless comic-relief best friend, Kousuke Takioto. But with his unparalleled knowledge of Magical Explorer and Kousuke’s unorthodox abilities (a scarf that doubles as a fist?), our hero vows to turn the game’s unluckiest loser into its mightiest heartthrob. In this world, nothing is out of reach when you’ve got the know-how!
Instead of waking up as the game’s popular hero, the protagonist finds himself in the body of Kosuke Takioto, the comic-relief friend character with poor luck and unusual tools. Armed with complete knowledge of events, dungeons, and romance routes, he sets out to raise that side character into someone who can clear every challenge and guide the heroines toward better endings. The print novels have continued since 2019, with volume 14 scheduled for October 1, 2026, just before the anime’s first episode.
WHITE FOX’s adaptation now has a locked start date, confirmed theme songs, and a second wave of key art to carry the story from page to screen. The October 3 premiere will show how Kosuke uses game knowledge, that infamous scarf, and a growing circle of allies inside a magic academy built on dating-sim rules.
