Loki Season 2 Finally Addresses Battle of New York Misstep

The God of Mischief finally addressed the truth about the Battle of New York in Avengers!

Loki Season 2 Episode 2 is finally here and it looks like the God of Mischief is having second thoughts about his actions in the past. In Breaking Brad, Tom Hiddleston's character opened up about the Battle of New York and somehow confirmed that it wasn't exactly his best idea.

In Loki Season 2 Episode 2, Loki and Mobius end up in the TVA automat where they decided to get some pie to calm the latter down after a tense exchange with Hunter X-5 aka Brad. While discussing how they were going to "break Brad" and get the information that they need, the trickster god recounts the events of the 2012 film The Avengers and humorously implies that it might not have been the most well-thought-out plan.

The God of Mischief basically broke down what he did that kickstarted the Battle of New York, pointing out that he attempted to convince Tony Stark to join his side but decided to throw him out the window when the hero refused. "Wasn't tactical. I lost it. Sometimes our emotions get the better of us," he said.

The simplified synopsis is funny on its own but what adds an extra layer of humor to this revelation is the timing of it all. The Loki in the TV series is only a few days removed from the Battle of New York. Notably, the version of Loki that initially appeared in the TVA at the beginning of the Loki series was the one from Avengers: Endgame, who used the Tesseract to escape from Stark Tower right after the events of The Avengers. The fact that the Loki Variant already knows that his invasion plan "wasn't tactical" adds a humorous twist to the character's development. Additionally, it pretty much confirms how quickly he has learned from his past mistakes.

This once again proves the best thing about Loki since his introduction in Thor. The character may have been a villain but the Marvel Cinematic Universe has thrown so much in his way that he learned and developed into a well-rounded figure fans truly enjoy watching in every project. With that in mind, we are all looking forward to his next move in the third episode.
