Just when fans thought that Sawako Kuronuma and Shota Kazehaya’s story was over, Netflix announced the coming of Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You Season 3 in September 2023. Avid followers of the series have breathed a sigh of relief to see the continuation of their love story 13 years after the second season ended. So, to give fans a glimpse of the third season, Netflix has finally released its official trailer, revealing the beginning of Sawako and Kazehaya’s relationship once more.

The Kimi ni Todoke Season 3 trailer begins with Sawako running to find Kazehaya to tell him about her feelings. She then makes a big confession that she likes him, which surprises the latter. As the two share the same feelings, Kazehaya ends up hugging Sawako. After a long wait, they’re finally together, but Sawaki can’t help but be confused about what she’s supposed to do now that they’re a couple.
“I really feel so flustered,” she says. As Kazehaya’s girlfriend, she wants to be closer to him even more as she tries to hold his hand while they’re walking but fails to do so as Kazehaya gets shocked by her move. Sawaka apologizes, seeing her boyfriend as so calm and collected. So, to not make her feel embarrassed, Kazehaya reaches for her hand and holds it as they walk together. “I’m so happy,” she reveals. “I made so many memories.”
In addition, Netflix released a new key visual for Kimi ni Todoke Season 3. The poster in question features Sawako and Kazehaya enjoying their walk on the beach with their classmates, Ryu Sanada, Ayane Yano, Chizuru Yoshida, and Kento Miura, behind them.

What is Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You Season 3 about?
Kimi ni Todoke Season 3 follows the story of Sawako and Kazehaya as they become a couple. Though Sawako finds it hard to reveal her feelings, she finally confesses to Kazehaya, who also makes his feelings known. This starts the beginning of their relationship, making their school life together their first date. Everything is new and fresh for them as they gradually overcome their awkwardness and learn more about each other.

Although she struggles with her blossoming feelings, Sawako comes to terms with herself and tells Kazehaya how she feels about him. Attracted by Sawako's unnoticed efforts and genuine personality, Kazehaya also candidly makes his feelings known. Thus, their new relationship begins. Their first date, their school life together, joy, embarrassment and new struggles — everything is fresh and new as the couple awkwardly and gradually learns more about one another, all while their friends' love stories begin to take shape as well. This bittersweet and poignant story of young people, woven from their romantic feelings and dear friendships, begins once more.
The anime is based on the manga of the same title by Karuho Shiina, published by Shueisha from 2005 to 2017 and collected 30 tankobon volumes. It was then adapted into anime by Production I.G, with the first season airing from October 2009 to March 2010 with 25 episodes and the second season from January to March 2011 with 12 episodes. It was also adapted into a live-action movie starring Mikako Tabe and Haruma Miura, released in 2010. Netflix and TV Tokyo also produced a live-action series that premiered in March 2023.
Kimi ni Todoke Season 3 is set to be released in August on Netflix. Fortunately, Netflix and Production I.G have heard fans’ cries and adapted the anime’s third season to the joy of many. After over a decade of waiting, they can finally see Kazehaya and Sawako’s romantic story again.
