A new teaser trailer for tvN's 100 Days of Deception follows its lead from crowded Gyeongseong alleys into the halls of the Japanese Government-General, where a buried identity becomes her only protection. The clip cuts between her earlier life as a pickpocket and the first careful steps of an interpreter trainee who cannot afford a single mistake. The series combines espionage, romance, and action against the backdrop of Korea under Japanese occupation. Brief shots of official corridors and period streets make clear how little room she will have to remain herself once the 100-day mission begins.
The new trailer follows Lee Ga-kyung (Kim You-jung), a nimble pickpocket who once worked the crowded alleys of Gyeongseong, as she accepts a covert assignment from independence fighters and slips into the Japanese Government-General as an interpreter trainee. Intercut shots of her earlier life on the streets give way to scenes of her new disguise, underscoring how thoroughly she must erase who she was. Inside those official halls she crosses paths with Kim Tae-woong (Park Jin-young), also known as Sato Hideo, an elite interpreter and the adopted son of a high-ranking Japanese official. Brief, charged encounters between the pair suggest both immediate danger and an attraction neither can easily dismiss.
The ensemble around them includes Yoo So-ran (Kim Hyun-joo), a resistance sniper whose personal vendetta keeps her close to the colonial power structure. Yoo Philip (Lee Moo-saeng) appears as an American news-agency correspondent whose official work provides cover for the same underground network. Sato Shinichi (Jin Seon-kyu) is introduced as a senior Japanese official whose household and office become the stage on which the deception must play out. Together the supporting players widen the web of loyalties that Lee Ga-kyung and Kim Tae-woong must navigate.
100 Days of Deception is directed by Yoo In-shik, whose previous work includes Extraordinary Attorney Woo and the Dr. Romantic series. His track record with character-driven stories and carefully staged tension is expected to shape both the intimate romance and the larger political stakes. The production recreates 1930s Gyeongseong with period sets that place the undercover mission inside a living, occupied city rather than a distant historical backdrop.
100 Days of Deception is scheduled to premiere on October 10, 2026 on tvN. The series is slated to air on Saturday and Sunday evenings in South Korea. Viewers outside of South Korea can stream it on Netflix. The planned sixteen-episode run will allow the 100-day mission, the forbidden connection at its center, and the independence struggle surrounding them to unfold at a measured pace.
