Marvel Boss Kevin Feige Possibly Confirms His Star Wars Film is Cancelled

Has Disney decided to pull the plug on Kevin Feige's planned Star Wars film?

A Star Wars movie produced by Kevin Feige has been a topic of debate within the franchise, but the Marvel Studios president has finally confirmed the project's fate. Feige has addressed the possibility of a Star Wars film in his future.

People have been speculating about Kevin Feige's project since 2019 when Michael Waldron was hired to write the screenplay. Although the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer confirmed that the film was in development and that the script was progressing well, with the story being separate from the Skywalker Saga, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy later denied that the film ever entered production. The conflicting reports left fans wondering whether Feige was indeed planning an upcoming Star Wars movie, and now the situation has finally been clarified.

During the premiere of The Marvels, Feige was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight, and the subject of his rumored Star Wars movie was brought up. When asked if a Star Wars movie was happening, Feige playfully deflected the question with, "Any Star Wars movie?"

However, when pressed about the specific rumored project, he simply replied with a wry smile, "No," confirming the fate of the long-rumored, confusing aspect of Star Wars movie production.

While the idea of a Kevin Feige-produced Star Wars movie was exciting, it is understandable that the project is no longer in development. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean Feige's schedule is less hectic.

Kevin Feige might continue to focus on the MCU

Splitting his focus between Star Wars and Marvel would likely be overwhelming for Feige. With a planned overhaul of Marvel Studios' entire TV division and controversies surrounding Jonathan Majors' future MCU role and other production problems, the MCU is in need of Feige's dedicated creative guidance.

Sadly, this might mean Feige no longer has time for other projects. Given that he has dedicated much of his professional career to the MCU, it is reasonable to assume that he would concentrate his efforts on resolving the various challenges it faces, rather than shifting to another Disney subsidiary. While this news may disappoint Star Wars fans, MCU audiences can take solace in knowing that Feige's unwavering commitment remains firmly within the world of superheroes rather than distant sci-fi galaxies.
