Just when the new Defense Force members thought that the fight was over after Mina Ashiro killed the main, gigantic monster, the battle just started after it produced a legion of little monstrous creatures. But amid a fight, Takamichi Hodaka appeared, and it looked like he was behind the attack. So, the preview for the upcoming Kaiju No. 8 Episode 7, titled Monster No. 9, reveals the appearance of the mysterious humanoid monster known as Kaiju No. 9.

The Kaiju No. 8 Episode 7 trailer begins with the team operator warning Kikoru Shinomiya that Reno Ichikawa can’t contact Furuhashi’s group. Kikoru then senses the enemy is coming, making Kafka Hibino nervous. The next scene shifts to Takamichi transforming into his monstrous self, Kaiju No. 9, before Reno and Iharu Furuhashi.
Now that even Kikoru, the strongest fighter of the new members, has been defeated, Reno and Iharu are convinced that they’re no chance for them to win against Kaiju No. 9. However, Reno has no plan to give up and asks Iharu to take the monster down together. As Kaiju No. 9 unleashes his true self, with tentacle-like spikes protruding from his back, he wonders if he will keep the Defense Force members alive.
Alternatively, the stills from Kaiju No. 8 Episode 7 hint at the intense turn of events about to unfold. Kaiju No. 9 appears in his full terrorizing glory, threatening to start his attack after seeing Reno and Iharu. Iharu looks both serious and sad, probably after facing the humanoid monster. The sun shines on Mina, hinting at a possible positive outcome of their mission.
But before that happens, Reno is seen aiming his gun at someone and is ready for action. Kaiju No. 8 also appears, confirming that Kafka has tapped his monstrous powers to face Kaiju No. 9. For the last still, Kikoru looks surprised, though it remains to be seen what she sees.
