The Shibuya Incident arc is finally coming and there's no one more excited about it than Ryomen Sukuna voice actor Junichi Suwabe. The Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 star is celebrating the end of the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc and looking forward to the return to present-day problems in the second cour.
In the first half of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, we got to learn more about Satoru Gojo's past and his estranged relationship with former best friend Suguru Geto. However, the second cour will bring us back to the present day (in this day, 2018) where Gojo and his students need to find a traitor in their midst.
This is certainly an intriguing thought and Junichi Suwabe is happy to finally be done with Gojo's backstory. "Well, finally," he wrote after retweeting the teaser for the Shibuya Incident arc. The video also features a preview of the new opening theme SPECIALZ by King Gnu.
What Happens In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Shibuya Incident Arc?
The second half of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 brings us back to the present, just after the first-year students of Tokyo Jujutsu High School took on the Cursed Wombs but that's not what Gojo is concerned about. The teacher is investigating Mahito's recent attack on the school during the Kyoto Sister School Exchange Event. In the first cour's finale, Gojo awakens as the first-years finally arrive and he clearly wants to take them into the investigation.
But who is the mole who helped Mahito and his companions infiltrate the school? Gojo already knows who it is and he's eager to confront the spy with his students. The truth will be a huge shocker and we can't wait for the Shibuya Incident arc later this month.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 6 is titled It's Like That ("So iu Koto") and will serve as the first episode of the second cour. The anime returns on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
