The last episode of the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc certainly sped things up to round up the first cour. However, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 5 didn't skip on certain details, especially not during Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto's confrontation in front of a popular chicken restaurant. Not surprisingly, KFC has noticed its "cameo" in the finale and had a fitting reaction to the scene.
In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 5, Suguru Geto's mental state deteriorates after the death of Yu Haibara and he snaps when he is sent to investigate the case of two young sorcerer girls. Discovering that the children were abused, Geto massacres the entire village and is branded a curse user and sentenced to death. Still, Gojo tracks him in Shinjuku but is unable to kill his best friend.
The Shinjuku confrontation (or breakup, depending on who you're talking to) is an emotional one and it all goes down in front of "KIC", a fake brand that's a clear reference to KFC. Amazingly, the official KFC X (formerly Twitter) account is aware of what happened in the finale and has a fitting reaction to the confrontation.
"Watching SatoSugu breakup was even harder from behind the register," KFC tweeted. It's also interesting to note that the franchise knows the ship name that fans have given to Gojo and Geto. Although the former friends are depicted as pals in Jujutsu Kaisen, most of the fandom still can't help but ship the sorcerers. Still, it doesn't matter what you perceive their relationship to be like because it is heartbreakingly painful either way.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 5 concluded with Geto taking over the Star Religious Group as its new leader, leading up to the events in the prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0. It also teased at what will happen in the Shibuya Incident arc as Gojo awakens in the present day to find that his students have finally arrived.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 6 is titled It's Like That ("So iu Koto") and will serve as the first episode of the second cour. The anime returns on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
