The upcoming anime series Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night has released a new visual and a third trailer, giving a glimpse into the new female character anime fans may soon love. Produced by Doga Kobo and created by JELEE, the new series is set to air next year in time for the animation studio’s 50th anniversary.

Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night tells the story of a girl who goes to the streets of Shibuya in the middle of the night to find herself. However, a special encounter is about to change everything.

The series’ official website released a new visual and trailer for the upcoming anime. The 57-second video doesn’t reveal much, just a series of clips of the district of Shibuya and a mysterious woman with purple hair.

At the end of the clip, it reveals the animated version of the girl with purple hair and her superhero version, complete with a red cape, two black-and-gold shields, and is now sporting a dark mane. The visual features the unknown female character.

Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night Plot

The series’ website reveals that Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night is about a girl trying to find herself in the district of Shibuya. Little details are known about this new anime, but it is said to be a coming-of-age drama featuring young girls.

I want to find what I enjoy. Shibuya, a district overflowing with identity. A girl trying to find herself drifts through Shibuya in the dead of night until a special encounter changes everything.

Produced by Doga Kobo, Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night is directed by Eromanga Sensei’s Ryohei Takeshita and written by Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki’s author Yuji Yaku. The character draft is by popman3580, while the character design is by Junichiro. No official cast has been revealed yet.

Doga Kobo is yet to announce the official release date of Jellyfish Can’t Swin in the Night. However, it’s scheduled to be out in 2024. By the looks of it, young fans may love this new anime series.
