With Echo’s own MCU series out, all our eyes are set on the show. Echo, aka Maya Lopez, was first introduced in the MCU in the Hawkeye series, where she was shown to be a villain. She was also a member of significant importance in Kingpin’s tracksuit mafia.
Echo is a unique addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe because of her unique background and the fact that she is both an amputee and deaf. This certainly pushes Marvel’s character boundaries in a positive new direction. And now that Echo’s own spinoff series is about to come out, here’s everything you need to know about the character before you start binging the show.
Who killed Echo's father?

We were given the answer to this burning question in Hawkeye Episode 3, which was called “Echoes.” This happened when Maya Lopez returned to her father’s usual place of being after the blip in 2018. This was a shop called the Fat Man Auto Repair Shop. Unfortunately for her, this visit did not go as she expected.
When she approached near, she realized that there was a fight going on inside the shop, where Ronin was killing all the gang members. We, of course, know that Ronin was an alter ego of Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye himself. When she went to her father, it was already too late since he was about to die from his wounds. So, Clint killed Echo’s father.
Hawkeye Reveals The Truth

The story of the death of Echo’s dad isn’t as simple as it might appear at first. This is because, in Hawkeye Episode 5, Clint Barton confronts Echo about this as Ronin. Their initial fight results in Maya losing the advantage and Ronin getting the better of her. Clint takes this opportunity to tell Maya that they are quite similar, weapons of rage easily manipulated.
Clint further tells her that the night her father died, he was there on the information of someone working for the Kingpin, who turns out to be her partner, Kazi Kazimierczak. After this, she kills Kazi and shoots Kingpin himself in the eye.
