The coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama is based on the webcomic and graphic novel of the same name by Alice Oseman. Premiering in April 2022, followed by a second season in August 2023, the show was released to critical acclaim thanks to its tone, pacing, and portrayal of LGBT people. Now, it looks like Heartstopper Season 3 is in the works.
Is Heartstopper Season 3 already in production despite the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike?
Netflix has yet to confirm when Heartstopper Season 3 will begin its production, but rumors exist that it will start in October. Thankfully, its filming is set in the United Kingdom, so it’s not affected by the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike in the US.
And if it's anything to go by, Netflix seemingly teases the start of the show's filming with a new post on X (formerly X). In the post, the giant has teased the title of the third season’s premiere episode, Love, by Alice Oseman, in what looks like a script photo. “That’s all we can tell you for now – but we’ll be back, as will Nick and Charlie,” the caption reads. What will happen in Heartstopper Season 3?
As seen in the preview still and as teased by Oseman herself, Heartstopper Season 3 will be about “love.” In an interview with Tudum, the creator revealed that the previous season had already set up the “conversation” for the next season.
As everyone knows, Charlie and Nick have strong feelings for each other. It’s just a matter of when and how these two will finally confess their love to one another. “People who have read the comics will know what’s going to happen, but I don’t want to spoil it for people who haven’t been reading the comics,” Oseman said.
Which graphic novel Heartstopper Season 3 will cover?
Though details about Heartstopper Season 3 remain under wraps, there are theories that it may cover the events of the graphic novel’s Volume Four. It may explore Charlie’s eating disorder after being briefly introduced in the second season and go deeper into Charlie and Nick’s relationship.

Is there a possible release date for Heartstopper Season 3?
