This year has been an eventful one for Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner right from the start. In January, the Avengers: Endgame star was involved in a snowplow accident that left a lasting impact on his life, both physically and emotionally. Since then, he has been candid about his journey to recovery and recently shared an inspiring new project that emerged from the harrowing experience.

Renner took to his official Instagram account to announce Love and Titanium, a collection of music inspired by the accident. The image appears to be the top of a heart being embraced by a metallic object. While he hasn't confirmed a release date for the EP or whether it will be made available to the public, the picture features the word "soon" and Renner expressed his hope of releasing it in the future.

"A collection of music we wrote about different milestones in my journey of recovery since Jan 1st this year," Renner wrote. "Love and Titanium has been painful, deeply healing, and ultimately cathartic for me to create. I hope I get the courage to share with you all."

The title Love and Titanium is a reference to a phrase Renner shared during an interview with Diane Sawyer earlier this year. He mentioned, "I've lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience, but I've been refueled and refilled with love and titanium."

What Happened to Jeremy Renner?

The accident took place on January 1, 2023, when the emergency brake on the snowplow Renner was riding failed to work. In a heroic moment, Renner jumped into action to save his nephew, who was in harm's way, and, tragically, he ended up being crushed by the snowplow. He suffered blunt chest trauma, collapsed lung, pierced liver, and 30 broken bones in the accident.

“I chose to survive. That’s not gonna kill me, no way,” he told ABC News in March about his experience. “I’ve lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience, but I’ve been refueled and refilled with love and titanium.”

Renner is still recovering from his injuries. The latest update confirmed Renner has finally been able to walk with a cane. For now, it is unclear when Renner will begin working again. However, the collection of music he has created during his experience is set to provide some insight into how he managed to recover from the ordeal.
