Netflix has rounded out the cast of its live-action Solo Leveling, adding Kang You-seok, Sung Joon, Lee Sung-min, and Jung Ji-hoon to an ensemble led by Byeon Woo-seok and Han So-hee. The announcement fills in nearly every major role from the original story.
The casting was revealed by Netflix on October 6, completing the lineup around the two leads whose attachments were already known. With the full roster now public, the adaptation has its hunters, its guildmasters, and the authority figures who will shape Sung Jin-woo's rise.
Han So-hee plays Cha Hae-in, the sole female S-ranker among the nine hunters in Korea to reach that status. Netflix describes her as a fierce biker who wields a longsword, and notes her striking resemblance to the character — along with the action credentials she built in My Name and Gyeongseong Creature.
Kang You-seok takes on Yoo Jin-ho, a C-rank hunter and the second son of the Yoojin Group conglomerate family. After teaming up with Sung Jin-woo on a dungeon quest, Yoo Jin-ho comes to look up to him like an older brother. Kang's recent credits include When Life Gives You Tangerines and Resident Playbook.
Sung Joon plays Woo Jin-chul, an A-rank hunter serving as Chief Inspector of the Korean Hunters Association's Surveillance Team. Woo Jin-chul monitors the movements of hunters — and becomes the first to suspect that Sung Jin-woo may have awakened to his powers. Sung Joon is known for The Fiery Priest 2 and Island.
The special appearances add heavyweight backing. Lee Sung-min appears as Go Gun-hee, a retired top-tier hunter who now chairs the Korean Hunters Association, the body that oversees the hunters' guilds, manages every hunter in Korea, and holds the authority to mobilize hunters in times of crisis. His credits include No Other Choice, 12.12: The Day, and Teach You a Lesson. Jung Ji-hoon joins as Baek Yoon-ho, an S-rank hunter with the ability to transform into a beast who leads the White Tiger Guild — the second-ranked of Korea's five major hunter guilds. He most recently appeared in Bloodhounds Season 2.
Behind the camera, Han Dong-wook has joined as co-director. He made his directorial debut with the film Man in Love and won Best Director in the television category at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards for The Worst of Evil. He teams up once again with producers SANAI PICTURES and Kakao Entertainment on the series.
Netflix's synopsis follows Sung Jin-woo as he faces deadly challenges, awakens his full potential, and rises from the weakest hunter alive to the most powerful in the world — all in his quest to protect humanity from the monsters lurking beyond mysterious gates. The announcement teases "strange yet gripping quests, larger-than-life dungeons and jaw-dropping monsters," positioning the series as a visual spectacle carried by its cast.
The company describes Solo Leveling as a legendary global IP that began as a web novel before expanding into webtoons, animation, and games.
The series is coming soon, only on Netflix, with no premiere date announced yet. As a Netflix original, it will stream on Netflix worldwide, including North America.
