A video clip recently surfaced that seems to be a part of the September 2022 Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks. In the footage, we can see one of the sequel’s two supposed protagonists, Jason, carrying a rifle as well as switching it between his left and right-handed grips, thus showcasing an exciting gameplay feature that might become a hit in the upcoming game.
After sharing the footage on Twitter, the user claims that players will have the choice to play with their dominant hand. However, this information should not be taken seriously since no official sources have confirmed that the feature will be a part of GTA 6. With that being said, you can take a closer look at the leaked footage, which seems to suggest that players can choose to be either right-handed or left-handed in GTA 6.
GTA 6 might introduce the right and left-hand swap feature
The leaked footage in question was uploaded on Twitter by @GeekedandBoujee, in which Jason, who might be one of GTA 6’s lead characters, is wielding a weapon and is switching between his right and left-hand grips. Considering the speed at which each grip switch takes place, it seems likely that the feature might be toggled with a single button.

If this turns out to be true, it won’t come as a shock to players since it's common in many shooter games. Rockstar Games’ very own 2012 release called Max Payne 3 also provided players with the option to swap shoulders while they were aiming. In addition to the right and left-hand swap feature, it would be a great idea if Rockstar Games decided to add the ability to crouch in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto title.
However, it is important to note that 2022’s leaked footage, although officially confirmed by Rockstar Games as authentic, is most probably from the early stages of GTA 6’s development. So, there is a chance that a couple of gameplay elements seen in the leaks might not actually be present in the game after its launch.
The release date for GTA 6 is still unknown. Many leakers are claiming that GTA 6 will release sometime during the end of 2024 or early in 2025.
