Netflix premiered Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look as a PlayStation 5 capture that walks through a Boobie pickup, a Raymond stash house, and a store robbery in one sitting. The special runs a little over 26 minutes of in-game footage from Grand Theft Auto VI and keeps Jason and Lucia moving between those jobs without cutting to a highlight reel. It opens on the score gone wrong, then follows the pair through apartments, streets, waterways, and a police raid that refuses to stay on a single path.
The first extended sequence sent the pair after a stash for Boobie Ike and a man named Raymond. Jason and Lucia entered a dark building, took an elevator, and found Raymond packing drugs with his crew before a call from someone named Ernesto warned that police were already moving in. Officers smashed through a door, dropped two dealers, and forced a cover-and-shootout that mixed pistols, a shotgun, and brief slow-motion bursts similar to the Deadeye-style timing seen in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Missions in GTA 6 can be played as Jason or Lucia, together or apart, with a character swap that looks close to the switch in GTA 5. One stretch put Jason in the back seat firing at pursuing cops while Lucia drove, then flipped control so the same chase could be finished from the wheel. A store job split the work the other way, with one character inside the register and the other waiting as getaway driver.
Domestic scenes sat between the heists. Jason walked through Lucia’s apartment, pulled food from the fridge, and later watched television while she got ready. The safehouse leaned pink and animal print. Lucia asked him to pick a dress, he could hurry her along, and at one point the pair could hold hands. Those quieter beats sat next to a dog interaction that let Jason pet, scold, or study the animal, complete with a visible honor-style prompt.
Leonida itself kept interrupting. After they left the apartment, driving revealed emergent street events, including a woman slamming a hammer into a parked car who recognized the couple on sight. Players can steal vehicles through a more involved carjack, ride a fan boat through Florida-style Everglades, paddle kayaks on open water, race dirt bikes, and drop from a rooftop by parachute in a shot built to show draw distance. Working out appeared on screen, though the footage did not make clear whether that gym time was a cutscene or a playable activity.
Crime tools have been tuned around that same variety. Masks, hats, and other clothing can be swapped before a job to lower heat. The wanted system no longer pins every police car on the mini-map the way GTA 5 did. A circle now marks the zone where officers are hunting the pair. Lucia was also shown peeling away in a car while an influencer livestreamed from the passenger side, with chat scrolling on the right of the screen.
The broadcast packed satire into the downtime. In-game commercials pushed an antidepressant called Angstipan and a 30,000-calorie Prairie Sandwich, sitting beside the same body systems that make exercise, food, and benders change how Jason and Lucia look. Character models carried visible cellulite and animation that looked less stiff than earlier entries in the series. The special closed without a new date change.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
